Fees stack up
A transaction fee, a payment processing fee, a listing fee and sometimes an ad fee, each taking its own cut of the same sale.
For Etsy sellers
Transaction fees, payment processing, listing fees and ads all come out of the price before it reaches you. Cajella starts from what your product costs to make, adds the fees you pay, and shows the price you need on Etsy and on every other place you sell.
Etsy fee rules and the price needed on each channel are part of Cajella Pro. Free costs your products, on 1 sales channel.
How it works with Etsy
Cajella doesn't import or sync your Etsy orders. It doesn't connect to your Etsy shop: you record each Etsy sale in Cajella, and it works out the cost, the fees and the margin.
The fee problem
A transaction fee, a payment processing fee, a listing fee and sometimes an ad fee, each taking its own cut of the same sale.
The price that works at a market or on your own site may not survive Etsy's fees, and the price that works on Etsy may be more than you need elsewhere.
Your shop's sales total says nothing about what's left after materials, time, packaging and fees.
When the same items sell on Etsy, at markets and directly, it's easy to promise something that has already sold.
With Cajella Pro
Add Etsy as a sales channel and enter its fees as rules: a percentage, a fixed amount or both, charged per item or per order, on the order total or on the item price only. When Etsy changes its fees, you update the rule.
From your pricing targets, Cajella works out the price that still leaves you the same amount after each channel's fees, for Etsy and every other channel you add.
When an order ships, its fees are saved with it, and your sales report shows revenue, cost of goods and margin with channel fees included.
Finished goods are one pool. Confirming an order reserves its items, wherever the sale came from.
Price after fees
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| What your pricing targets say this item needs | $30.00 |
| Percentage fees you entered: 6.5% + 3% | 9.5% |
| Fixed fees you entered: $0.25 per order + $0.20 per item | $0.45 |
| Price needed on Etsy: (30.00 + 0.45) ÷ (1 − 0.095), before rounding | $33.65 |

Built from your own costs and the fees you enter. At $33.65 the fees come to $3.65, leaving the $30.00 your pricing targets call for.
Every channel
Add your direct sales, markets and other platforms as channels too. Each has its own fee rules and its own required price, so you can see which channels need a higher price.
The Free plan costs your products and includes 1 sales channel. Pro adds more channels, channel fee rules, the price needed on each channel, and target-margin and minimum-profit pricing.

No. Cajella doesn't connect to Etsy, and it doesn't import or sync your orders. You record sales in Cajella, and it handles the cost, fee and margin math.
Add them as a fee rule if you want them in your prices. A rule applies to every order on that channel, so an ad fee that only hits some orders can't be limited to just those orders.
Yes. Each fee rule applies either to the whole order total, including the shipping you charge, or to the item price only.
Update the fee rule. The price needed on that channel is worked out again from the new rule, and orders that already shipped keep the fees saved with them.
For the price needed on a channel, Cajella treats a per-order fixed fee as if each order has one item, and says so next to the price.
Free covers costing your products and 1 sales channel. Fee rules, more channels and the price needed on each channel are part of Pro.
